five on friday

Happy Friday, friends! I hope this week has treated you well.

o n e // I finally finished editing our family photos! Full blog post to come soon, but here is a little sneak peak for you:

can't wait to share the rest!

t w o // My mom came and stayed for a few days this week and it was w o n d e r f u l. Having someone around to help throughout the day with baby and the house - it's seriously something I never take for granted anymore.

t h r e e // Lilli said her first word this week - dada. She also is close to clapping when you say "yay!", and we are working on baby sign language. Any tips?

f o u r // We got some work done on our patio this week. We finally got a table, umbrella, a swing, chairs, lights, and some flowers. We just need to finish the concrete for our patio and get started on that half. For now though, we are enjoying our peaceful back porch. Full blog post to come!

f i v e // Did you see my most recent blog post about the things I don't do/things I am not? If you haven't, you can see it here!

"There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty. " - Dr. Steve Maraboli.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo, Brandi

  2. Sign language is great for infants and actually helps to promote the development of their verbal speech and language skills! It's good to start with just a few simple ones (e.g. "More") and model them for her. Repetition is the key to her learning how to use them and attaching their meaning to the sign :)

    1. Oh great! Thank you so much! She's been doing pretty well with "milk", and we are working on "more" and "all done"!
